What is Tiger Iron Jasper?

I ran across these stones a while back and thought they were so unique. We've all heard of Jasper and hematite and tiger eye. This stone is actually a combination of all three! Tiger iron jasper is mined from banded iron formations and is composed of layers of golden tiger eye, jasper and hematite. Although the pictures never do this type of stone justice, when you move them around in the light, you can see all of the different bands of color in them! The obvious luster of the hematite and tiger iron as well as the natural beauty of jasper, you can clearly see all of these in one stone!

Handmade Prom Jewelry By Auviana

It's Prom time for the SoulFire Artisan family! We've been preparing for this night for quite some time and it's finally here! My 15 year old daughter, Courtney, (almost 16) and her boyfriend Colyn are off to experience a night they'll remember forever! I took her to a friends salon to get hair and makeup and she looks absolutely stunning!

Our wonderful friends over at Auviana created her jewelry for this special day. They used a few different shapes of clear crystals for both pieces. The bracelet is double stranded and the earrings, oh my! They look as if they're cascading from her ears! Both pieces are PERFECT for her dress! Thank you Auviana for taking the time to create such amazing pieces that my daughter will be able to cherish forever!

New Rainforest agate  semi-precious stone polished nugget beads at Soulfire Artisan!  A while back I ran across these nuggets that I fell in love with. Unfortunately no one seemed to know what type of stone they were. I bought a few strands and decided to do some research. It took me forever to finally figure out what these were. Some called it Poppy Jasper, others websites said it was Rainforest Jasper. I finally found an exact match to the nuggets and found out that they are called Rainforest Agate. Kind of strange, but this is a type of Jasper. It has gorgeous "psychedelic" prints on most of the nuggets that consist of orange, white, brown, green and even some blue jasper with pockets of chalcedony.
